Cody is enterprise-only since 23 July 2025, so for most readers this is not a live choice — it is a migration. What Claude Code costs ($20/mo (via Pro)), what it does differently, and whether it is the right replacement.

Cody is enterprise-only since 23 July 2025. Sourcegraph discontinued Cody Free and Cody Pro. New signups stopped on 25 June 2025 and access ended on 23 July 2025; individual developers were pointed at Amp instead. Cody continues for Enterprise customers only. Vendor points new users to Amp. Vendor’s own announcement.

What has changed recently
- Cody, 6 September 2026 — Sourcegraph now publishes a contract floor where it previously showed no number: the Enterprise plan reads “Starting at $16K” minimum. Still enterprise-only — no individual tier exists at any price.

This is not really a comparison any more. Cody is enterprise-only since 23 July 2025, so unless you already have access, Claude Code at $20/mo (via Pro) is the only one of the two you can actually start with. We keep this page because “what happened to it and what do I use instead” is a real question.
